Central Arizona. Arcosanti. An "arcology". The top picture is what it looks like after 30 years of construction. The bottom picture is the model of what it's supposed to look like when it's done. It's supposed to house 5000 people, but it's also supposed to be where they work, and where they have their recreation. Good thing, because it's way north of Phoenix, and way south of Flagstaff. There's nothing there. The gray part of the model is what's actually there. Paolo Soleri, the architect who invented the concept of an arcology, is 94. He's still working, but he probably won't live to see this completed.
