The house we lived in when I was a medical officer in the Indian Health Service from 1971 to 1973. They were already tearing down house number 6 the day we took these pictures. Ours is house number 2. We used the Geiger counter that we borrowed and determined that the house isn't radioactive. So, even though the entire Navajo reservation is dotted with houses that have uranium mine tailings in their concrete slab bases, our house wasn't one of the radioactive ones.
